TLScontact Pilots Biometric Data Capture for Italy in Algeria

Algiers, Algeria - 21 June 2012

TLScontact, the European leader in face-to-face contact center solutions, is pleased to announce the commencement of visa applicant biometric data collection for the Embassy of Italy in Algiers.

TLScontact CEO Bertrand Weisgerber commented, “We are delighted that the Italian Embassy in Algiers entrusted us with piloting the collection of biometric data as this proves their satisfaction with our previous service and shows the Embassy’s confidence in our security.”

Biometric data collection services began on 20 March 2012 in the visa application center in Algiers, which TLScontact has been running for the Embassy of Italy in Algiers since 2009. The visa application center was reorganized to provide an efficient process flow, incorporating this new service with the reception of visa applicants for Italy now located on the second floor.

Mr. Weisgerber added, “Applicant experience is one of our primary objectives and in introducing the collection of biometric data we continue to provide an outstanding level of service that respects applicant privacy.”

TLScontact has been tasked with scanning visa applicant photographs and the capturing of 10 fingerprints using approved third party equipment smoothly integrated to the TLScontact system and process, making the visa application center a one-stop solution for applying for an Italian visa.

“Biometric data collection is relatively new and the outsourcing of it completely new for us – but not for TLScontact,” stated Silvia Santangelo Head of Consular Section. “We are glad having outsourced to them already years ago and thus now benefitting from their experience in this new requirement. As we are the first Embassy of Italy having outsourced the whole face-to-face applicant contact – including biometric data collection – the success of the partnership with TLScontact in this project will be of global significance for the entire Italian Administration.”
